Yoda the Chihuahua

As you can see in the picture, Yoda's been wondering why he has to compete with the laptop computer for my attention.
Yoda loves to curl up next to the laptop where it's warm and cozy. Chihuahuas just naturally love to be warm and can often be found in the sunny spot or under a blanket. Every once in a while Yoda will poke his head around the laptop screen. Then he looks over at the glass container that holds the cashews and looks back at me. He does this several times with a look in his eyes that shows how hard he's trying to communicate! "I want a snack!" is a common dog theme but it's uncanny how expressive Yoda can be when it's time for food. So I'll get the cashew or peanut jar and eat a few first, as a "top dog" should before I give Yoda anything. I used to say here that I would give Yoda a few nuts, and I didn't think there was a problem with that, but we found that it's possible for some pieces to get impacted and Yoda on a couple of occasions had swelling around his, um, rectum and the vet had to clean him out" (I try not to look!). So now we stick to dog treats and perhaps a pretzel stick or corn curl once in a while. If I wait too long he forgets to lick his chops and begins to drool a tiny bit so I try not to make him wait too long. I'll let Yoda lick the salt of my hand after eating nuts, but he's getting used to not getting any nuts to eat anymore. We are intending to send out a "monthly" update (sorry folks, monthly has been more like yearly, but we're trying to get back in full swing) of the many funny and hopefully interesting things Yoda does, along with a few of the best new pictures we receive each month.
